Activating your strengths
Together with the education authority, in particular the School Psychological Inclusion Education Counselling and Support Centre (SIBUZ), we are implementing the “Activate your strengths” project. It aims to enable pupils to re-enter their school career. This is done by:
- Deriving differentiated support for pupils by means of diagnostics and learning process monitoring by the SIBUZ department, teachers and social workers to overcome and prevent school disengagement
- Activating the resources of pupils and their parents
- Development of motivation to learn, reliable and careful completion of school assignments, appropriate integration into the learning group
- emotional stabilisation and reduction of social-emotional difficulties, breaking down social isolation, reduction of shame
- Lowering the expectation of failure and reducing feelings of failure, strengthening resilience and frustration tolerance
- Development of personal responsibility and formation of a realistic perspective for the school career or vocational preparation measures (behavioural change)
- Integration into the school community, if possible reintegration into the mainstream school or into other (school replacement) projects or youth welfare facilities
- Networking and cooperation with the relevant specialist services such as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service (KJPD), Child and Adolescent Health Service (KJGD) and relevant medical specialists, youth welfare office, therapists and other institutions
A teacher from the education authority and two employees from “Roter Baum” Berlin UG work on the project. It is professionally supervised by the SIBUZ, which also prepares the diagnoses.
