“Nature in Frame” is a project initiated as part of the Erasmus programme. This youth exchange brings together people aged 15 to 27 from different parts of the world to share their perspectives on nature and urban landscapes through photography. The participants come from Romania (Izvoarele), France (Marseille), Serbia (Pancevo), Italy (Mussomeli) and Germany (Berlin).
The project promotes creativity, cultural exchange and environmental awareness. Photography serves as a means of artistic expression and enables the participants to present their unique experiences and learning processes. The result is an exhibition that presents a rich variety of perspectives, techniques and elements.
For five days, the participants explored themes such as nature, infrastructure, interaction between the natural and urban environment, landscape, harmony and love – all based on different elements and themes in the city of Berlin.
Course of the project
- In the first few days, joint activities create trust and a good group feeling.
- Afterwards, four thematic workshops – each led by a facilitator – open up different approaches to the topic of nature.
- Each participant chooses a topic, works in a small group and develops their own ideas and photographic experiments.
- At the end, each participant selects a photo that best represents their own vision. All works will be presented in a joint exhibition.
More than photography
The project offers much more than artistic work: It is an opportunity to learn in an intercultural environment, to share culinary and cultural specialities at an international evening and to reflect together on nature, society and creativity . The work takes place at the Environmental Education Centre in Kienbergpark (UBZ), a green learning space in the east of Berlin.
Final exhibition
The highlight of the project is a public exhibition that takes place at a different location in Berlin every year. In 2025, the participants will show their works at Hellersdorf Town Hall – for the local community, the project partners and interested visitors.
Recognition of learning
All participants receive a Youthpass certificate at the end, which visualises the skills acquired in the project in the area of non-formal learning and can be useful for education and employment.
