The multi-generation house “Buntes Haus” is a meeting place for people of all ages in the heart of Hellersdorfer Promenade in the Berlin district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and was opened in March 2009.
We see ourselves as a leisure, educational and neighbourhood facility with a focus on the neighbourhood. The Bunte Haus is also a children’s centre in the network of the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk e.V. (German Children’s Fund).
Playroom, craft room, café, clothes room, reading club, lots of play equipment, climbing elements, movement games, board games, musical instruments, retreat room, homework help, reading together, romping, singing, dancing, relaxing, being creative, cooking, science and environmental protection, celebrations, culture, media, spinning, co-creation, advice, basic education and many projects… but also exchange, meeting opportunities, neighbourhood organisation and support – everything is possible in the Bunte Haus.
Our centre’s special activities include the “Hellersdorf AKTIV” project, the reading club, our clothing store, food sharing and our “Bonvenon” projects (partnerships for democracy) as well as the school bag project and the “Heimathafen Wuhlestan”.
But the most important thing is laughter!
Our doors are open every weekday from 1-5pm and our programmes are free of charge. In the mornings and after 5pm we organise special activities for adults or groups who meet here.
In the mornings, we organise projects and events and offer daycare centres and others a space to let off steam.
With us, YOU decide what happens every day – whether big or small! If we all pitch in, we can do anything.
Our team is international and would not be complete without our many volunteers.
