In 2026, it’s time once again to head out into public spaces, create together and enjoy the experience!
The Festival of Mobile Youth Centres is entering its next phase, bringing young people, creative activities and international encounters back to the city.

Following successful editions in Berlin and Belgium, this year we’re once again transforming parks and squares into vibrant hubs filled with workshops, music, art, movement and interaction. Together with partners from Germany, Belgium, Romania and Italy, we’re putting together a programme co-created by young people themselves – open, creative and free for everyone.

Whether you fancy trying your hand at art, meeting new people, cooking together or simply soaking up the atmosphere: you’ve come to the right place.

Background

Since 2024, we have been organising the Festival of Mobile Youth Centres with great enthusiasm – an international youth exchange project that has already taken place several times in Berlin and Belgium. Together with strong partner organisations such as Roter Baum Berlin, Le Fagotin (Belgium), Curba de Cultură (Romania) and Millennium Van and Strauss APS (Italy), we have created a dynamic format that focuses on the mobility, creativity and participation of young people.

During an intensive festival week, around 30 young people from various European countries come together and transform public spaces into places of encounter, play and discovery. Through a diverse programme of art workshops, sport, music, intercultural cooking and dialogue sessions, a space is created that is actively shaped by the participants – together with dedicated youth workers.

The festival’s impact extends far beyond the individual events: it strengthens local communities through new cultural and educational initiatives, promotes professionalism in youth work and raises the profile of mobile youth work approaches at European level. At the same time, it sends a clear message of solidarity, democracy and diversity, including through links with local initiatives such as ‘Schöner Leben ohne Nazis’ in Berlin.

A central component of the project is the active participation of everyone: young people are not merely participants, but help to shape workshops, activities and meeting formats themselves. In this way, they develop key skills such as teamwork, communication, facilitation and creative problem-solving – and experience first-hand how their ideas can enrich public spaces and social interaction.

Thanks to funding from Erasmus+, the international network of Mobile Youth Centres continues to grow steadily, impressively demonstrating how sustainable and inclusive connections are forged through cross-border cooperation.
